This Yidaki is an extremely versatile instrument in that its note can be bent up and down greatly-due to its high backpressure. It has a dry, low drone with a hint of power and 'grunt' due to its low key. This didj would be very suitable for amplification, where the power of the low key would be brought out clearly because of its low resonance. Responsiveness is excellent, air needs are very low and vocals are good. This instrument is suitable for all players and looks beautiful with its natural streaked patterns in the wood grain.
